I personally love IRC due to its open nature and you will continue to find me there. I use the IRCCloud client to give me back history and an app-based experience. It works for me.
Anyway, I’ve been very reluctant to feature Discord, a closed-source chat tool, but the community has spoken. I’ve spent a fair amount of effort trying to feature Matrix as an open source app-friendly alternative to IRC, but I struggled to get the configuration “just right” and resistance has been futile.
